Happy New Year to you foundry ! I really hate to hear about people getting beaten in the NOI. The members are getting nothing in return. No hospital, no university, no major farmland, just nothing but a restaurant that can barely stay open, and some other questionable things. I don't know the exact details, but I know Elijah's son, Wallace, became the leader right after his death in 1975. However, there was a split in the nation where some followed Farrakhan (who taught through Elijah's teachings) and Wallace (who teachings were more inclusive and promoted racial equality - or something like that). Wallace eventually created The "American Society of Muslims" while Farrakhan stuck with NOI. This happened before 1981 because by then, Farrakhan was the new leader of NOI. I swear, Malcolm's family is cursed. I'm sure they're being targeted by TPTB. I thought Ilyasah at least led a decent life despite her parents death, but even that seems to be false, SMH. Farracon had a shampoo/cosmetics line in the 80s or 90s! I just saw a video on this Malcolm X YouTube channel. I'll try to post it when I can. But do you know when I saw that I DIED? Folks were in there praising a shampoo line like it was the second coming of Elijah Muhammad LMAO! They looked a damn fool. I went to a Black marketplace similar to the Ujamaa Fest yesterday, and they were selling The Final Call newspaper. It looked like an okay paper, but I seriously do not want anything NOI-affiliated in my house. I remember a little bit of that. Wallace began to embrace Islam into the teachings and people were very upset with that. I wonder if a lot of peoples stayed with Farracon or left to be with Wallace. I think I mentioned this earlier, but there is a video of Dr John Henrik Clarke going IN on Farracon for being disrespectful to the ancients and ancestors in Africa, being colorstruck, and a myriad of other things. It was really sad listening to this account because so many people continue to follow this man who believes (believ ed hopefully) that light skin was a gift from Allah and dark skin a curse. I want to know where the curse started. All we know about is Malcolm's paternal grandmother being raped by that Scottish(?) White man. I have a feeling the curse went longer and deeper than that though..

I believe it's the speech he did right after the Million Man March in 1995. I've always said that Farrakhan was a light-skinned supremacist. Unfortunately, he's not alone. There are sooooo many 'black power activists' who think just like him. Malcolm's paternal grandmother was raped also?? So both of his grandmothers were rape victim?

Happy New Year Foundry and Romantic.
I would like to know when the curse started as well. I wish there was info out there about both Malcolm's paternal and maternal grandparents. I always wondered why none of his siblings never wrote a book about their family. I don't even think Ella or any of his brothers wrote a book.

I believe Foundry meant Malcolm's maternal grandmother was raped by the Scottish white man.

Very late to the party but I am finally back! It doesn't seem like any of them really talked about family history besides basic, unavoidable facts, such as Malcolm's father and mother's unfortunate fates. Besides that, not much is said about grandparents/previous generations, or even home life with the brothers. They all seem(ed) very private, which is understandable because I am that way too when it comes to my life. But it would be interesting to know about the curse for sure. latrellAlso, romantic, Latrell is right about that. I was referring to Malcolm's grandmother in the case of the rape. Malcolm said it a few times, including the "I hate every drop of that White rapists blood in me" quote (paraphrased).

I did a genealogy test and found out I have a white great grandparent on my moms side. I was once on another message board where people where discussing dna and a Black man there stated he had 1% neanderthal gene because of rape. I agreed with him because that 1% also showed up in me. A bunch of white people came in and multi quoting to summarize, they stated me and the Black guy resented the White in us. Not only that but they tried to denounce the rape part by showing statistics from a racist site stating bm rape ww and how that was common and/or bw never get raped by wm. Anyways, not to go off topic but Im with Malcolm here, I do not like the white in me and will never claim it.

Admin I get you and Malcolm. I have White people in both sides of my family from past and present, and while I do not resent them, I do not claim any Whiteness. I'm Black, you know?!
